Preparing for Postpartum with Clare Parks: Recovering from pregnancy and birth with herbs, food and community.
Please join us for Preparing for Postpartum, with Clare Parks, Birth and Postpartum Doula and Health Education ED. D. At this workshop, we’ll discuss: What exactly is happening in our bodies Postpartum? Why is it so important to prioritize our nourishment? Clare will also share easy, accessible examples of kitchen medicine (herbs and food) to support our postpartum healing with samples and 2-3 recipes and will discuss with participants how to listen to our body’s calls to slow down. This workshop is great for postpartum parents at any stage, pregnant parents looking to plan ahead, and friends / family members going to provide practical loving support to new parents! Fill Your Cup Meetup with Amber Weakley
Stress. Overwhelm. Burnout. Whatever you call it, we are going to talk about it. Motherhood can quickly run us into the ground and knowing the signs of this downward spiral can help prevent a full collapse. Join us as we dive into the psychology behind burnout, why our body begs for a break, and discussion on how we can refill our cup in order to be the mothers we are capable of being!
Amber Weakley is completing her Master's degree in Clinical Counseling at The Citadel in Charleston, SC and is a Clinical Intern at Ready Nest Counsling. She has over 5 years of experience working with new mothers at Postpartum Support Charleston and volunteering for Mugs for Moms and Postpartum Support International. As a mother of two boys, she brings a unique sense of personal experience to her professional work. She has additional training from Postpartum Support International and The Policy Center for Maternal Mental Health. Amber provides warmth and understanding for mothers and couples who are balancing immense responsibilities while nurturing those they love.

Mugs for Moms 5th Annual Fundraiser
Please join us for Mugs for Moms, the fifth annual fundraising event and virtual auction to help raise awareness for Maternal Mental Health!
Mugs for Moms is a non-profit organization involving artists, healers, and advocates committed to raising awareness about perinatal mental health and building community through our Muddy Meetups, art therapy and educational workshops. Proceeds from this year's fundraiser will also benefit our partners: Mom's IMPACTT, Postpartum Support Charleston and MUSC's Arts in Healing. This event will be at Redux Contemporary Art Center in Charleston, South Carolina and each ticket includes a handmade mug or cup created by a ceramic artist that may be filled with coffee or wine to enjoy with delicious light bites while you enjoy live music by the amazing V-tones of Charleston and connect with our community! For those supporters who are not able to attend, they will have the opportunity to bid on mugs made by artists from across the country during our virtual auction which will also take place on May 4th. This event happens because 1 in 7 moms suffer from a mood or anxiety disorder during pregnancy or after delivery. What is a Muddy Meetup? We know that motherhood can be messy and this is an opportunity for moms to work with clay while engaging with other moms in their community. Each Muddy Meetup is led by a local artist collaborating with a perinatal healthcare or mental healthcare professional who will lead the group to help create an environment for healing and connection while engaging in a creative, hands-on project. Coffee, tea and snacks will be provided. Muddy Meetups are always free and offer art therapy and peer support. Please register to attend and wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little muddy!
Laura Allen, Art Therapist at MUSC Health Arts in Healing, along with local ceramic artist, Maria White will be leading this Muddy Meetup on Friday, October 13th from 10am - 11:30 am at our location downtown at 723 Meeting Street in Charleston. This Muddy Meetup will focus on pregnancy and infant loss.
We are offering a maximum of 8 participants per Muddy Meetup. Babies under the age of one year are welcome. This event is free with an opportunity to meet again the following week, Friday, October 20th from 10 -11:00 am to pick up fired ceramic pieces and engage in more discussion! Preparing for Postpartum Workshop with Clare Parks
Please join us for Preparing for Postpartum, with Clare Parks, Birth and Postpartum Doula and Health Education ED. D.! At this workshop, we’ll discuss: What exactly is happening in our bodies Postpartum? Why is it so important to prioritize our nourishment? Clare will also share easy, accessible examples of kitchen medicine (herbs and food) to support our postpartum healing with samples and 2-3 recipes and will discuss with participants how to listen to our body’s calls to slow down. This workshop is great for postpartum parents at any stage, pregnant parents looking to plan ahead, and friends / family members going to provide practical loving support to new parents! Doors open at 11AM to shop Nature and Nurture handcrafted herbal products, meet and greet and ask 1:1 questions. Space is limited to 15. This workshop is free. Please register here.

Mugs for Moms 4th Annual Fundraiser
Please join us for Mugs for Moms, the fourth annual fundraising event and virtual auction to help raise awareness for Maternal Mental Health!
Why we have this event: Mugs for Moms is a non-profit organization involving artists, healers, survivors and advocates committed to raising awareness about perinatal mental health and building community through art therapy and education. We provide perinatal mental health resources and opportunities to build community and connection for moms, expectant moms and non-birthing people. Proceeds from this year's fundraiser will also benefit our partners, Mom's IMPACTT and Postpartum Support Charleston. This event will be at Redux Contemporary Art Center in Charleston, South Carolina and each ticket includes a handmade mug created by a ceramic artist that may be filled with coffee generously provided by Brown Fox Coffee or wine from Monarch Wines to enjoy with delicious light bites while you enjoy live music by the amazing V-tones of Charleston! For those supporters who are not able to attend, they will have the opportunity to bid on mugs made by artists from across the country during our virtual auction which will also take place on May 20th. This event happens because 1 in 7 moms suffer from a mood or anxiety disorder during pregnancy or after delivery. Each mug will come with information about resources that offer support to moms who are suffering. Representatives from MUSC's Arts in Healing, Postpartum Support Charleston, MUSC’s Women’s Health, Nature & Nurture, Your Happy Nest, Rome Physical Therapy and more will be at the event as well as other members of the maternal health community.
